Ag Technician (Kokomo, Nappanee, Auburn)


AG TECHNICIAN: NAPPANEE, KOKOMO & auburn LOCATIONS

Summary of Position: A AG Technician is responsible for performing repair and maintenance services in our Service Department for our customers. This position will report directly to their assigned Service Manager. A Service Technician must be self-motivated, pursuing the completion of their tasks efficiently and with a concern for quality. A focus on not overlooking detail involved with each task is of the highest priority. This position requires good communication skills, as a Service Technician will be expected to communicate directly with customers, providing ongoing diagnostic and service support.


Duties and Responsibilities: The Duties and Responsibilities of a Service Technician include but are not limited to:

  • Performing quality repairs of machinery as assigned by the Service Manager that ensure customer satisfaction,
  • Working alongside of the Service Manager to manage time punches and parts for each repair job to be completed and ensuring Work Orders are turned in in accordance with company Policy,
  • Collaborating with colleagues to provide quality service to customers in the most efficient and timely manner possible,
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose service related issues on customer owned machinery either in person or via phone support, asking for a Service Call as appropriate,
  • Pre-deliver/Set-up newly retailed farm machinery as suggested in each Service Sales Requisition and/or direction from Service Manager,
  • Pursue and perform preventative maintenance services on customer owned machinery,
  • Keeping individual workspaces clean and tidy and performing maintenance to Company owned equipment including Service Trucks,
  • Upholding the Company’s Core Values of Service, Commitment, Integrity & Partnership, and
  • Working efficiently and effectively on any other task as determined by the Service Manager. Tasks will vary daily depending upon the needs of the department.

Position Requirements:

  • Dedicated self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive position productivity without the need for direct, constant supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to facilitate coordination among multiple parties oftentimes under specific timeframes and deadlines.
  • A fundamental ability to listen and develop practical retail sale solutions.
  • Shared understanding and importance of upholding the principal Core Values of our Company.
